This 43-Inch 4K Computer Monitor Is the Definition of Overkill
And I want it so badly.
By Eric Limer
Among the many things the smartphone revolution has proven—aside from things like "people love to take pictures of themselves"—is the simple fact that sometimes a small screen is all you need. Whether it's a pint-sized iPhone SE or a mammoth Samsung Galaxy Note, sometimes the screen you can fit in your pocket beats out even the biggest TV.
But then sometimes you just want a 43-inch computer monitor.
Dell's new Multi-Client Monitor (P4317Q) is exactly that. Measuring just over three-and-a-half feet diagonally, the high-resolution 4K monitor makes the most of its absurd real-estate by functioning, effectively, as four screens at the same time. But you can blow any one of those four displays up into glorious 3840 x 2160 fullscreen at any time
I say sometimes you want a 43-inch monitor because, really, who needs one of these? Chances are you can make due with a standard one or two (or sometimes three), and get still wind up paying less: the P4317Q comes in at a hefty $1,350. But hey, if it's really calling to you then you gotta do what you gotta do. And what you gotta do is sit down and have a nice hard think about how you are living your life.
